Preparation for the "Inburgeringsexamen"
Since April 1 1997, everybody from outside the European Union is obliged to pass a so-called "Inburgeringsexamen". This "Inburgeringsexamen" consists of two parts: the Central Exam and the Practical Exam.
In the Central exam ("Centraal examen") you will have to:
- answer several questions about the history of the Netherlands, its laws, customs and habits
- mention some contradictions
- repeat some spoken sentences
- summarize a short story in a few sentences
In the Practical exam ("Praktijkexamen") you will have to:
- collect a certain amount of proof of writing or speaking for your Portfolio
- (optionally) participate in assessments
- do a writing assignment
